About KASIB
The Kenya Association of Stockbrokers and Investment Banks represents the interests of Kenyan stockbrokerage and investment banking companies.
Who We Are
KASIB was initially founded as the Association of Kenya Stockbrokers (AKS) but later changed its name to KASIB to accommodate the interests of investment banks. The twenty-three members all have seats at the NSE and are holders of their respective licenses as stockbrokers or investment banks.
How We Play Our Role
We engage with domestic, regional, and international exchanges, depositories, custodians, and government stakeholders to develop our Capital Market. We make policy recommendations, give input on drafts, and facilitate enabling laws to enhance operations. We further promote Capital Markets awareness training and investor education.
What We Do
KASIB facilitates the development of Capital Markets within Kenya and East Africa through representation and backing of our members. We actively engage in promoting the implementation of the Capital Markets Master Plan 2014 - 2023.

The African Stockbrokers and Securities Dealers Association (ASSDA) facilitates seamless securities dealings across African Markets (Nigeria, Egypt, Kenya, Mauritius, Morocco).

Mr. Donald Wangunyu
ChairmanDonald is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of FourFront Management, a division of Standard Investment Bank. Having pioneered mobile/SMS trading in the country 12 years earlier, FourFront goes beyond as the first Robo-Advisor in Kenya to be recognized by the Capital Markets Authority. He also serves on the board of the NSE and heads Risk & Compliance at SIB.

Cynthia Mbaru
Vice ChairpersonCynthia Mbaru is a Director in the Corporate Finance division of Dyer & Blair and has worked with the team for over 3 years.

Mr. Luke M Kinoti
SecretaryLuke is an accomplished Corporate Executive, Author, Entrepreneur and Investor with over 30 years experience. He is the executive chairman of Vedman Capital and co-founder/former CEO of Fusion Capital group.

Ms. Nancy Noreh
TreasurerNancy is the General Manager at Sterling Capital. She supports the business through strategy planning, systems development, and financial analysis. She holds a Master of Commerce in Finance and is a Fellow of ACCA.

Mr. John E. Kirimi
DirectorMr. Kirimi serves in senior capacities in Finance and General Management. He served on the boards of KCB and the Motor Trade Association. He is a former Chairman of KASIB and holds a B.Com (Hons) and is a CPA(K) and CPS(K).

Rina Hicks
DirectorRina directs Corporate Finance Advisory at Faida Investment Bank. She is the author of 'Money-Wise' and runs a YouTube channel on financial literacy with over 31,000 subscribers. She has led numerous capital market transactions across East Africa.

Mr. Paul Wachira Mwai
DirectorMr. Mwai is the CEO of AIB-AXYS Africa Ltd and the immediate former Chairman of KASIB. He is the Vice Chairman of the NSE and has over 30 years of experience, including roles at Barclays and Old Mutual.

Kathure Nyamu
DirectorKathure is a seasoned investment banker with over 27 years’ experience at NCBA, CBA Capital, PwC, and Deloitte. She established wealth management and stock brokerage lines at CBA Capital. She is a Certified Investment and Financial Analyst.

Mr. Ewart Salins
DirectorEwart is the CEO at Apollo Asset Management Company with over two decades of experience. He chairs the Alternative Investments Committee at the Fund Managers’ Association and sits on the KEPFIC Steering Committee.

Francis Mwangi
DirectorFrancis has 18 years of experience in investment advice and capital raising. He is a CFA Charterholder and FCCA. He has served on the NSE Trading & Technology Committee and joined the KASIB Board in 2024.

Broadly addresses all trade and technical matters. This includes legislative, regulatory, privatization, new listings, and new products.
External Relations Committee

Responsible for KASIB’s relations with other market players, ensuring that the association is in good standing at all times.
Financial Education & Literacy Committee
Chair: Rina Hicks
Addresses activities regarding financial education, training, and certification. Ensures financial education reaches the public through social media and other platforms.
Strategic Initiatives Committee
Chair: Mr. Ewart Salins
Explores ways by which KASIB can raise funds both in the medium and long term.

Focuses on technology, shaping our approach to innovation and driving strategic technology implementation.
The Secretariat

Mr. Willie Njoroge
Chief Executive Officer
Willie is credited with transforming KASIB into a vocal advocacy body. He championed initiatives like M-Akiba and Ibuka and successfully lobbied against Capital Tax and Robinhood Tax. He is a founding member of ASSDA.
